Dr. William R. "Bill" Jones is widely known for his tremendous impact on countless young lives and ensuing careers with his enthusiasm, integrity, devotion, compassion and dedication. As a professor, Extension worker and mentor to so many for over 30 years at Auburn University, he not only is the model mentor, he also CREATED many future mentors, adding to the legacies of Auburn University, the American Meat Science Association and the profession of meat science.

Beyond Bill’s efforts in the classroom, industry and laboratory at Auburn, he is an individual known for his passion for the disciplines of Meat, Food, and Animal Sciences. Bill’s colleagues have experienced first-hand the dedication and passion he pours into his profession, colleagues, students, and anyone that crosses his path. Many became meat scientists because of Bill Jones! NO ONE cares more for students than Jonesy!
