The AMSA Board of Directors submits requests to the Board of Trustees for Foundation funds. All fund disbursements must be consistent with AMSA goals and policies.
Designated Gift Opportunities
Contributors to the Foundation may choose to have their contributions put into the Innovation Fund. This fund underwrites new programs and services of the American Meat Science Association and has the potential to reach the largest possible audience.
Awards and Recognition Fund
The American Meat Science Association recognizes outstanding achievements in meat science and service to the meat industry through its annual awards program. The Awards and Recognition Fund was established in 2005 to enable the Association to endow specific awards, beginning with the R.C. Pollock Award.
Competitive Education Fund (Meat Judging Program)
The meat judging program is an integral part of the history of AMSA. The Competitive Education Fund will ensure the future success of this important educational activity and allow for development of new innovative educational programs.
Mentor and Legacy Recognition Funds
Mentor and legacy recognition funds are set up in the name of individuals who are honored for their lasting contributions to the lives of meat science students and young professionals and their lasting contributions to the meat industry. Complete information on these programs can be found here.
Rachel Hamilton Memorial Fund
Rachel Hamilton's contributions to the Association in her role as the Program Director will have impact well into the future, particularly for the Intercollegiate Meat Judging program. This fund honors her memory by endowing the Rachel Hamilton Spirit Award which is given to meat judging participants who demonstrate commitment, dedication and teamwork during their meat judging career.
