Joseph G. Sebranek, Ph.D.

Joseph Sebranek

Dr. Sebranek is a long time member and leader in the AMSA, serving as Director and President. He has made significant contributions to the Meat Science discipline and the Meat Industry over a very successful career. He has been recognized as an outstanding teacher and researcher by AMSA and other organizations. He is a Fellow in the American Meat Science Association, the Institute of Food Technologists, and the American Society of Animal Science. He is the recipient of the R.C. Pollock Award. Dr. Sebranek was named a member of the Meat Industry Hall of Fame in 2017. Even with these prestigious credentials, his greatest contribution may be his service as a mentor to many leaders in the meat industry and the AMSA. Therefore, recognition with this mentorship is well earned.

Continuing the Legacy

Expendable funds from this endowment will support the Youth Programs Endowment Fund
with a focus on programs and initiatives outside of judging that introduce students to meat, meat science and opportunities in the industry.
