A fundraising drive for establishing a mentor recognition in the name of Robert Cassens was started in September 2013.

The funds raised from the mentor recognition will be used to support the efforts of PhD-level graduate students in completing and communicating their research and establishing professional networks that will sustain their meat science careers.  The mentor recognition is being coordinated by a committee led by Gene Allen, Donald Beerman & Cameron Faustman.
