AMSA Educational Webinar - The Pandemic’s Impact on Meat Perceptions & Behaviors
December 9, 2020
10:00 am – 11:00 am CT

In 2020, we have had several complex factors coming at us from every single direction, yet food and meat have seen growth at retail. From the way that consumers are eating and balancing new needs at home, to what they’re searching for online, to how they are buying, the pandemic has impacted the way that consumers act and feel.  This session will cover the latest factors related to buying behaviors, sales trends, and protein perceptions, including:

  • How have consumers' meat buying behaviors shifted at retail?
  • As consumers believe that COVID has revealed opportunities in the food supply chain, how are attitudes, perceptions, and expectations of the meat industry impacted?
  • What other beliefs related to the economy, preparing meals, sustainability, health and well-being are impacting consumer decision making now and into the future?

Tara-Ann Dugan (Tara) is the director of strategy and insights for the National Pork Board.  In this role, Dugan is responsible for providing insights across the pork supply chain by, generating and distributing strategic analyses and relevant data that identify consumer attitudinal and behavioral patterns.  She has experience spanning nearly 15 years at organizations including McDonald’s Corporation, Nielsen, IRI, and Hammacher Schlemmer.
