The 2025 RMC early bird registration ends May 23, so make sure you register early to take advantage of the discount. Early registrants receive a $100 discount off regular rates making the full conference registration fee $775 for AMSA members, $350 for student members, and $1,100 for nonmembers if completed by May 23.

Logan Johnson, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Research Associate, Department of Animal Science

Logan Johnson is originally from Rosholt, South Dakota, where he grew up on a beef cattle farm and developed a passion for agriculture. He later attended South Dakota State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science. While at SDSU, he was actively involved in the Meats Judging Team, conducted undergraduate research in Meat Science, and competed on the Meat Science Quiz Bowl Teams. His collaboration with his mentor, Dr. Kyle Grubbs, helped instill a passion for research, leading him to pursue graduate degrees at Iowa State University with Dr. Steven Lonergan and Dr. Elisabeth Huff-Lonergan. Through his graduate studies, Logan has worked on various research projects, including those related to protein purification, in vitro-based experiments, and mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics. Currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at ISU in the Lonergan Lab, he continues to use proteomics and metabolomics to advance the fundamental understanding of challenges facing the livestock, meat, and food industries.
