Meat & Muscle Biology Earns Inclusion in Web of Science – A Major Milestone

We are thrilled to announce that Meat and Muscle Biology (MMB), AMSA’s fully open access journal for comprehensive meat science research, has been selected for inclusion in the Web of Science™ Core Collection’s Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). This achievement significantly enhances the journal’s visibility and solidifies its standing within the global scientific community.

What This Means

All articles published in MMB after 2022 (starting with volume 6, issue 1) will now be indexed in:

· Biological Abstracts

· BIOSIS Previews

· Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)

Additionally, inclusion in ESCI is a crucial step toward earning a formal Impact Factor, which serves as a key indicator of a journal’s influence and credibility, reflecting the frequency with which its articles are cited in scholarly research. This metric further enhances the attractiveness of publishing in this journal.

The Impact Factor (score) will be awarded in 2025 and will reflect citations in 2024 of articles published from 2022 to 2023. The Impact Factor
