Why do you want to be on the AMSA Student Membership Board of Directors and what qualifications make you the best candidate for the position?

When attending my first RMC I was rather nervous not knowing what to expect. Upon arrival I was greeted with warm smiles and charismatic attitudes. A member of the Student Board of Directors greeted me and put my mind at ease about the event. From that moment I knew the members of the Board were among the elite in the industry and those are the people I aspired to be when I became a graduate student in meat science. With a background in agricultural education, I am always striving to leave an impact on student and I believe the Student Board of Directors would grant me that opportunity. I believe my passion for the industry and my desire to create impactful experiences for the members makes me the best candidate for the position.

What does your AMSA membership mean to you?

I started my AMSA adventure on the 2018 Meat judging team at Oklahoma State. During that
experience I was exposed to many opportunities. I was able to begin working in the meat lab
and then that summer attend my first RMC. During my first RMC I was able to see all the
incredible experiences to be had; including knowledge gained in reciprocation sessions, career
and networking through the people in attendance. It is an honor to be part of an organization
that supports an industry the truly feeds the world. This organization is a true connection of the
education, professional and personal aspects of the industry and allows students like myself
access to these giving us the ability to succeed.
