Chandler Steele

Chandler Steele grew up in Central Michigan on her family’s farm raising and showing cattle and sheep around the Midwest. She recently completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science at Oklahoma State University. While at OSU, she was an involved leader in several organizations, mentorship groups and served as an ambassador for the Animal Science Department. Chandler was a member of the 2015 Meat Judging Team and the 2016 Reserve National Champion Meat Animal Evaluation Team. Through her involvement on these competitive teams she became passionate about meat science and the meat industry.  Fostering her interest in meat science, she completed internship experiences with the American Meat Science Association, Cargill Value Added Protein and is currently a Protein R&D intern at Tyson Foods. In Fall 2017, Chandler will begin a Master of Science degree at Texas A&M University under the guidance of Dr. Jeff Savell and Dr. Kerri Gehring. After completion of her M.S. she plans to work in industry.
