Emily grew up in Farmington, Missouri, where she raised livestock and showed horses. She was active in the local 4-H and FFA. After graduating high school Emily attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on an equestrian team scholarship. After earning her Associates degree Emily pursued her Bachelor’s degree in Food Science at Oklahoma State University. While at Oklahoma State she was a member of the 2016 National Champion Meats Judging team,  and was also recognized as a 2016 All American for meats judging. She also worked as a undergraduate research assistant in the Meat and Muscle Biology lab assisting with many research projects. Emily will be attending Kansas State University this fall to start her Masters degree in meat science.
