Leslie Frenzel, Ph.D.

Director of Youth Programs

American Meat Science Association

Our Director of Youth Programs is responsible for leading the execution of strategies for the next generation of competitive youth educational programs including Intercollegiate, FFA, and 4-H meat judging programs as well as expanding educational programs for future generations of meat scientists. 

Leslie Frenzel joined AMSA as the Director of Youth Programs in March of 2021.  She earned her Bachelor and Master of Sciences degrees in Animal Science from Tarleton State University, Stephenville, TX.  She continued her education at Texas A&M University earning her doctorate degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Meat Science and Food Safety.  Previously, Leslie was an Instructional Assistant Professor, Departmental Internship Coordinator, and Intercollegiate Meat Judging Team Coordinator in the Department of Animal Science at Texas A&M University.  Leslie and her husband Mark live in Bryan, Texas with their children Laurel, Grant, and Audrey.
