My name is Allison McNamara and I’m from Marilla, New York. I am a sophomore at Oklahoma State University majoring in Animal Science and Agricultural Communications. Meat judging has been an eye-opening experience for me to a side of the agriculture industry that I didn’t realize was so extensive. The life skills I have developed through meat judging and the connections and friends I’ve made so far are something I’m so thankful for. It’s an honor to receive the Gary C. Smith scholarship and generosity from the Bellinger Foundation. With the support of my education, I plan to pursue a career in animal breeding and photography. I am excited to see where the remainder of my meat judging career will take me and am eager to continue learning more about the industry.
