Protein industry success is often reliant on our ability to integrate. This student education and training opportunity will have you working alongside industry leaders to solve a current, real-world protein industry problem utilizing the integration of cross-collaborative teams.
Student Training Education Programs (STEP) provide valuable experiences, opportunities to explore career options, and feedback from those involved in the industry.
The 2023 Smithfield EXPLORE will be October 26-27th in Smithfield, VA.
The event will include:
- Tour a Smithfield plant
- Tour the historic town of Smithfield and discuss our rich meat history
Simulate current meat industry challenges and how to address them as a team. - Directly interact with top Smithfield Leadership from multiple functional areas including food safety and quality, research and development, continuous improvement, and more!
Smithfield Explore has selected the 25 participants for the 2023 program. If selected the registration fee will be $50 and include event lodging, meals, event t-shirt, and during event transportation. Flights and travel to and from Smithfield, VA are to be covered by the students.
