AMSA invites the submission of original research and abstracts on any aspect of meat science for presentation at the AMSA 2023 RMC as we come together to celebrate 76 years of heritage in St. Paul, Minnesota, June 25-28, 2023. Anyone interested in presenting a poster (Open, Technical Summaries, Graduate Student or undergraduate competitions) can now submit their abstract online!

AMSA will be using electronic posters for the 2023 RMC

It is time to begin preparing for the AMSA RMC 2023 from June 25-28th, 2023.

 Please review the Poster Presenter Community Site below to review all information for the event and to learn about the ePosterboards platform.

 ePosterboards will host a technical webinar on April 26th at 1PM CDT. During the technical webinar we will review the AMSA RMC details including dates and deadlines, how to format your poster, and an overview of the event structure. Student Research Competition

The purpose of the AMSA Student Research ePoster Competition is to encourage students to:

1.    Engage in high quality, sound and pertinent meat and poultry research;
2.    Gain experience in presentation of scientific papers;
3.    Demonstrate poise and mental agility before their peers;
4.    Develop skills in effective communication for dissemination of research information; and
5.    Acquire an appreciation of the role of the Association and its members in advancing the well-being of the meat industry through research.

In total there will be three awards given per division (Undergraduate, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy) presented, so a total of 9 scholarships and plaques will be awarded for the 2022 RMC Research Poster Competition.

Dr. Bobby VanStavern Award for Beef Quality Research

AMSA is excited to partner with Certified Angus Beef to offer the Dr. Bobby VanStavern Award for Beef Quality Research. This annual award will be awarded at the 2023 Reciprocal Meat Conference (RMC). The $1,000 award will recognize an undergraduate or graduate student submitting an abstract detailing relevant research pertinent to beef quality and/or consumer perceptions and demand of high-quality beef. Applicants will simply indicate their intentions of application when submitting the abstract for the RMC meeting. Finalists may be asked to supply additional information at the request of the committee.   • 04/13/2023   Intent for Research Competitions Due (Undergraduate, M.S. and Ph.D.)
  • 04/26/2023  ePoster Webinar Layout and Design - 1:00 pm CT
  • 05/09/2023- Notify Abstract Presenters 1st email
    • This email will state accepted with no changes needed, accepted with minor changes needed or major changes needed and 2nd review required before decision made. 
  • 05/18/2023 - Notify Abstract Presenters 2nd email
    • This email will be sent only to those required to make major revisions letting them know if their abstract was accepted or rejected.
  • 05/19/2023- Notification of renumbering email sent out
  • 06/01/2023 -   ePoster PPT Presentation Due
  • 06/09/2023 - Deadline for all presenters to register for the RMC meeting.
