This webinar provided a brief overview of National Institute of Food and Agriculture grant opportunities in the area of Animal Health and Production and Animal Products, followed by a discussion of grantsmanship.

Presenter:

Dr. Steve Smith serves as National Program Leader, Animal Production Systems within the USDA NIFA. He provides leadership for a wide range of research, extension, and education projects related to animal production; he is the primary contact in the areas of livestock nutrition, growth, and lactation, as well as sustainable production systems; he serves as a liaison to a number of industry groups, several multistate committees, and other federal agencies in matters related to production animal agriculture. Dr. Smith came to NIFA in 2009 from industry, having worked in various research, sales, and marketing positions within the Southern States Cooperative and Cargill, Incorporated.
