Why do you want to be on the AMSA Student Membership Board of Directors and what qualifications make you the best candidate for the position?

As a young woman growing up to love the meat industry more than I had ever imagined, my passions and dreams have driven me to apply for the AMSA Student Membership Board of Directors. This opportunity will allow me to further grow in the industry, network with businesses and others, as well as having fun advocating for the industry that has helped shape me into the person I am today. Realizing that being on the AMSA Student Membership Board of Directors is an important and dedicated task, I believe that I have the qualifications to be the best candidate for the position. With excellent writing and oral skills, with the combination of time management, attention to detail, self- motivation, and leadership skills, I am confident that this set of skills and abilities will allow me to excel in this position. I am hopeful that being on the AMSA Student Membership Board of Directors will also help grow my skills and abilities as a student, coach, and professional.

What does your AMSA membership mean to you?

Memberships allow associations to connect individuals with the same interests all while promoting a common industry. My AMSA membership allow me to connect with others from around the country, attend conferences, courses and events, as well as allows students to apply for scholarships to help them attend all of these different contests, events, courses, and more. Although my first membership to AMSA was complimentary due to my participation in meats judging, I have looked forward to the email updates from AMSA and have enjoyed staying up to date with things happening in the industry. AMSA will have my continued membership support.
